My research examines the neuro-cognitive, linguistic, oculomotor, and perceptual processes underlying reading acquisition, development, and performance in monolinguals, bilinguals, and multilinguals across the lifespan, that is, from early childhood to late adulthood. My research also investigates these processes in special populations, including those with language and learning disorders (e.g., developmental dyslexia) and those with psychiatric illnesses (e.g., schizophrenia). I investigate these issues using cutting-edge experimental methods (e.g., eye-tracking, electroencephalography) and advanced statistical techniques (e.g., linear and non-linear mixed-effects modeling).
